CAPI & Partners Lead Climate Resilience Initiative

Climate Action and Policy Initiative, in collaboration with the Rotary Club and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, successfully organized an Environment Seminar titled “Changing Climate: Need to Build Resilience” on Friday, November 14, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Rotary’s longstanding commitment to community service, humanitarian development, and social uplift strongly aligns with CAPI’s mission to strengthen climate resilience, enhance public awareness, and promote sustainable development across Pakistan. Under the leadership of Rear Admiral (Retd.) Shahid Saeed, the Rotary Club’s active engagement reaffirmed its pivotal role in addressing climate challenges that impact lives, livelihoods, and vulnerable communities.

At the same time, ICCI, led by Sardar Tahir Mehmood (President & CEO), played an instrumental role in convening diverse stakeholders and providing an enabling platform for meaningful dialogue — demonstrating ICCI’s deep commitment to advancing Pakistan’s national climate agenda and enhancing resilience across business and industrial sectors.

The seminar featured insightful and engaging presentations:
Barrister Adil Jamal shared a compelling snapshot of climate change impacts in Pakistan.
Dr. Irfan Yousuf highlighted critical needs and emerging opportunities for building climate resilience.
Engr. Leena Aftab presented a comprehensive overview of carbon market mechanisms and opportunities for the private sector.

This collaboration between ICCI, Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, Green Growth Consultants, and CAPI enabled a rich exchange of ideas, perspectives, and solutions — setting the stage for impactful future action.
CAPI remains committed to making a difference, building strong partnerships, sharing knowledge, and supporting stakeholders on cross-cutting climate challenges. We will continue delivering at our best.
