Climate Action and Policy Initiatives (CAPI) is proud to share the engagement of its team in Tbilisi, Georgia, where our CEO Dr. Irfan Yousuf delivered a two-day public-sector training workshop on Article 6 Readiness for Georgia. The workshop was hosted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (MEPA) and delivered under the framework of UNOPS and the NDC Partnership.
The training focused on operationalising Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, with particular emphasis on Articles 6.2, 6.4, and 6.8, supporting Georgia’s institutional preparedness and engagement in high-integrity carbon market mechanisms. Discussions also highlighted Georgia’s evolving bilateral partnerships with Japan, Switzerland, and the Republic of Korea in the context of climate cooperation and carbon market development.
At CAPI, we believe that effective climate action depends on technical rigour, institutional readiness, and credible international cooperation. Engagements such as this reflect our continued commitment to supporting partner countries in strengthening climate governance and advancing Article 6 implementation.
We extend our congratulations to Dr. Irfan Yousuf and express our sincere appreciation to MEPA-CCD, UNOPS, and the NDC Partnership for their leadership and collaboration on this important initiative.
